Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Scope
This policy explains how Translatent Technologies, LLC handles information that could be considered consumer health data when you use the Piphanies Network and Piphanies mobile app. It supplements our general Privacy Policy. Some Piphanies publications cover health-adjacent topics, so a requested article URL or an inference from a quiz recommendation may reveal an interest in a health topic even though we do not ask for a diagnosis or medical record.
Information We Process and Its Sources
- Site and API requests. When your browser or app requests an article, audio file, search result, quiz step, or other resource, Cloudflare processes the timestamp, requested URL, IP address, user agent, and related security signals at its edge. This information comes from your device and network connection and is used to deliver the request, secure the service, and investigate abuse.
- Web quiz interactions. The browser sends selected answer keys and the question and choice history shown to you to the Piphanies API. The API uses them to select or generate the next question and recommendation. We do not ask for your name, diagnosis, treatment, medical record, or other clinical information in the quiz.
Piphanies App Data
The Piphanies mobile app has no account or sign-in, does not collect health data from HealthKit or another health service, and does not request health permissions. Bookmarks, audio playback progress, and onboarding topic preferences remain on your device. They are not uploaded or synced, and uninstalling the app removes them from that device.
Quiz Processing and Retention
The web quiz is server-backed. Its shared quiz_cache stores answer-prefix keys and the generated question or result for each prefix so later readers can reuse the same decision-tree node. It does not store a reader account. On a cache miss, the question and choice history may be sent to our configured generation provider, Anthropic, to create the next node. The final recommendation is also stored in browser state on your device.
The cache root has a seven-day lifetime. The API deletes the full shared tree when an expired root is next checked, when the active brand profile changes, or when an administrative brand change explicitly invalidates the cache. Expiration is triggered by a root quiz request rather than a background deletion job, so cache rows can remain after seven days until the next root request. Anthropic states that standard API inputs and outputs are deleted from its backend within 30 days, except where different terms apply or longer retention is needed for usage-policy enforcement or law.
Request and Diagnostic Logs
The Piphanies API suppresses ordinary access logs, so the origin does not create a second per-request record of IP address, URL, and user agent. Operational application and error logs may include a timestamp, request or Cloudflare Ray identifier, brand context, and diagnostic messages. The container-local copy rotates at 10 MB and keeps at most three files; our central log system deletes its forwarded copy after 30 days.
Cloudflare controls any provider-held edge request records. Cloudflare states that raw HTTP request logs are not retained by default and, when its Logpull retention is enabled, are available for at least 3 and up to 7 days. We do not export Piphanies raw request logs to retain them longer. Aggregate traffic statistics are not raw request logs and may be retained longer.
How We Use and Disclose This Information
We use this information only to deliver and secure Piphanies, generate and reuse quiz questions and recommendations, troubleshoot faults, and investigate abuse. Cloudflare processes request data as our hosting and security provider. Anthropic receives quiz question and choice history only when a cache miss requires generation. We do not sell consumer health data, use it for advertising, or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your Choices and Requests
You may stop using the web quiz at any time and clear its result by clearing site data in your browser. You may request access to or deletion of consumer health data associated with you by emailing contact@translatent.ai. Because there is no Piphanies account, include the relevant site, approximate date and time, URL or quiz interaction, and any request or Cloudflare Ray identifier you have so we can locate a record without collecting unnecessary new information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices change. We will post changes here with an updated effective date.
