Privacy Policy
Overview
Translatent Technologies, LLC ("Translatent", "we", "us") operates translatent.ai, the Piphanies Network of websites, vibedebate.com, wishabook.com, and the Charles invitation page at charles.translatent.ai. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Our websites may collect:
- Edge request data — Cloudflare processes the timestamp, requested URL, IP address, user agent, and related security signals when it delivers and protects our sites. We do not use this information to identify individual readers.
- Contact information — name and email address, only when you voluntarily contact us.
- User-submitted content — display names and messages submitted through interactive features such as call-in forms, voluntarily provided by users.
- Quiz interactions — the Piphanies brand-recommendation quiz sends selected answer keys and the question and choice history shown to you to the Piphanies API. The API uses that information to choose or generate the next question and recommendation. The final result is also stored in browser state on your device and is not tied to an account.
- Invitation requests — when you request an introduction on charles.translatent.ai, the email address and optional note you enter, together with your IP address, browser user agent, the page address your browser sends with the form, the time of the request, and a Cloudflare request identifier.

Third-Party Services
Cloudflare hosts and protects our sites and processes edge request data for delivery, security, and abuse prevention. When a Piphanies quiz path is not already in our shared cache, the API may send its question and choice history to our configured generation provider, Anthropic, to generate the next node. These providers process information under their own privacy terms and our service agreements. We do not send quiz history to advertising providers.
Charles invitation requests are received by a Cloudflare Pages Function, which forwards them to a server we operate, where they are stored. We notify our administrators of each request by iMessage and by push notification to their devices. That notification contains your email address and note, so it passes through Apple's messaging and push notification services. Copies of the notification are also kept in Charles's searchable message history; when that history is used in a later AI-assisted conversation or task, your email address and note may be sent to the AI model provider that runs that conversation or task.
Cookies
Our websites may use essential cookies for site functionality. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Data Retention
Our Piphanies application does not emit ordinary per-request access logs: its access logger is suppressed, so the origin does not create a second log of each reader's IP address, URL, and user agent. Operational application and error logs may contain a timestamp, request or Cloudflare Ray identifier, brand context, and diagnostic messages. The container-local copy rotates at 10 MB and keeps at most three files; our central log system deletes its forwarded copy after 30 days. Cloudflare controls any provider-held edge request records. Cloudflare states that raw HTTP request logs are not retained by default and, when its Logpull retention is enabled, are available for at least 3 and up to 7 days. We do not export Piphanies raw request logs to extend that period. Aggregate traffic statistics are not raw request logs and may be retained longer.
The shared Piphanies quiz_cache stores answer-prefix keys and generated questions or results, not a reader account. Its root has a seven-day lifetime. The full shared tree is deleted when an expired root is next checked, when the brand profile changes, or when a brand change explicitly invalidates the cache; because expiration is request-triggered rather than a background deletion job, rows can remain after seven days until the next root quiz request. On a cache miss, question and choice history is sent to Anthropic for generation. Anthropic states that standard API inputs and outputs are deleted from its backend within 30 days, except where different terms apply or longer retention is needed for usage-policy enforcement or law. The final recommendation remains in browser state on the reader's device.
We keep Charles invitation requests, and the copies of their notifications in our administrators' messages and in Charles's searchable message history, until you ask us to delete them; we do not delete them automatically. To ask, email contact@translatent.ai and include the email address you submitted.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you by contacting us. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
EU and UK Privacy Rights
Where EU or UK data-protection law applies, we rely on our legitimate interests to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the sites, balanced against your rights. We rely on consent where consent is required, and you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.
You may ask us for access to and a copy of your personal data, rectification of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, or to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email contact@translatent.ai to exercise a right. We may need enough information to locate the relevant record and verify the request.
Our company and origin infrastructure are in the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. For restricted transfers to Cloudflare, we rely on Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum where applicable. You may also complain to the data-protection supervisory authority in the country where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred; in the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Our Mobile Apps
This section applies to all Translatent mobile apps.
- Crash and error diagnostics. Most of our apps include Sentry, an open-source crash-reporting library. In apps that include it, a crash or unexpected error sends a diagnostic report to GlitchTip — error-tracking software we run ourselves, on our own servers. These reports are not sent to Sentry, Google, or any other analytics provider. A report contains what we need to fix the fault: the error and stack trace, app version and build, device model, OS version, locale and timezone, coarse device state such as available memory, and the network address from which the report arrives. It does not contain your name or email address, and we do not attach an advertising identifier. We use these reports only to diagnose and fix defects, and we delete them after 30 days.
- No advertising or measurement SDKs. Our apps do not embed Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, AdMob, the Meta SDK, Amplitude, or Mixpanel, and we do not assign or read an advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Android Advertising ID on Android). We do not use your data for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.
Piphanies Mobile App
The Piphanies mobile app (iOS and Android) is a reader for the Piphanies Network. Its privacy posture is deliberately minimal:
- No account, no sign-in. The app has no login flow. We do not collect a name, email address, phone number, or any account identifier from the app.
- Data stored on your device, not on our servers. Bookmarks, audio playback progress, and the topic preferences you choose during onboarding are stored locally on your device only. They are not uploaded to our servers, shared with any third party, or synced across your devices. Uninstalling the app removes all of this data from your device.
- Network requests. The app fetches articles, audio, search results, and publication metadata from api.piphanies.com and the Piphanies Network brand domains (mompiphany.com, winpiphany.com, neupiphany.com, sympiphany.com, yumpiphany.com, piphanies.com). These servers may record standard server-log information (timestamp, requested URL, IP address, user agent) for operational and security purposes, as described above under "Information We Collect." We do not attempt to identify individual app installers from this log data.
- Affiliate links. Articles may contain affiliate links — for example to Amazon — inserted by the editorial author. Tapping an affiliate link opens your device's default browser; from that point your interaction is with the destination site under that site's own privacy policy. The Piphanies app does not track which links you tap.
- Permissions the app requests. Internet access (required to fetch articles and audio); background audio and lock-screen controls (required to play audio narration while the app is backgrounded); notifications (only if you explicitly enable them — the app does not currently send any). The app does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photo library, calendar, health data, or any other sensitive permission.
- Children. The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
